LEARNING TO LIVING

FROM

Since 2014, the community movement has gained momentum in some schools that have trailblazed by taking a whole-of-school approach with FamChamps.

At the heart of this is applied learning — structured, personalised opportunities for students to serve their family meaningfully within their own homes and communities.

View other Family Challenges here.

These opportunities for application mirror the spirit of Values in Action (VIA) —  a Student Development Experience (SDE) that actively nurtures socially responsible citizens.

Through applied learning, students:

Actualise knowledge and skills in real-life

Develop initiative and ownership

Reflect on impact and growth

Such experiences demonstrate how family education, when grounded in real-life action, shapes values that strengthen families. Students move from being self-focused to others-centered, contributing meaningfully to their families and shaping a “We-First” society.

A large percentage of FamChamps youths demonstrate how family education drives a shift from self-focused to others-centred mindsets, through a strong understanding of how family influences the self and applied conflict resolution skills.
